Amanda Burton Smith

Governor

Amanda became a Governor of Ripley Court School in September 2022. As a mother, grandmother and lifelong learner, Amanda’s own educational journey led her to achieve a First-Class Honours Degree in Primary Education with an Early Years specialism. From there on, inclusion has been a driving principle in her practice, and she has since qualified with the National Award for SENCo and Masters in Education with an Inclusion Pathway.

The teaching and school leadership roles Amanda has held to date have included nursery through to Year 6 in a variety of independent boarding schools in Sussex, Croydon, and Surrey with age ranges from 2-18. She is also currently working with Roehampton University as a mentor to student teachers in schools across south west London and Surrey following a variety of initial teacher training routes.
