Learning Support

Ripley Court is a non-selective school with a child centred approach to learning.  We welcome all children who can make the most of the opportunities we offer and can flourish in our nurturing environment.

We adopt a positive, a flexible, and, creative approach to learning, giving each child the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our smaller class sizes mean that we know our pupils exceptionally well and we can quickly pick up any learning barriers.  Our Special Educational Needs and Wellbeing Co-ordinator (SENCO) works with parents and the whole teaching team, overseeing our provision.

Our SENCO, Specialist SpLD Teacher and Specialist SpLD Assistant carefully tailor support to the needs of each child.  Working individually, in small groups and with the whole teaching team, we use many multisensory techniques to make learning memorable. We develop good relationships with parents working together if we feel we need to identify a particular educational need.

ISI identified our SEND provision as excellent in our recent inspection.

Pupils with SEND

Pupils with SEND:

‘use their highly developed understanding of their own learning styles to select the activities that will extend their learning.’

‘make excellent progress as they benefit from small class sizes and are well supported by specialist support provided by the teachers.’

‘their talents [in drama and public speaking] are recognised and encouraged.’
