Excellent Preparation for Senior School
Where children develop the confidence and skills for senior school and beyond
At Ripley Court, we prepare our pupils for senior school and beyond by equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive.
We take time to truly know each child, understanding their strengths, interests and aspirations. As pupils approach the next stage of their journey, we work closely with families to ensure they move on to a senior school where they will be happy, challenged and able to flourish.
Our broad, academically ambitious curriculum prepares pupils for a wide range of senior schools, with many Year 6 pupils achieving scholarships in academics, sport, music and art. Subject-specialist teaching, a weekly enrichment programme and extensive co-curricular opportunities develop independent learning, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Through our close partnership with Reed’s School, we benefit from valuable collaboration and insight into the expectations of senior education. Our Director of Studies works closely with colleagues at Reed’s to ensure our curriculum is ambitious, thoughtfully designed and delivered in a way that develops the knowledge, skills and confidence pupils need to thrive at their next school.
Choosing the right senior school is a very personal decision, and we pride ourselves on offering families individual guidance throughout this process. In Year 5, our Headmaster, Gavin Ryan, meets with every family to share our understanding of their child’s academic profile, strengths, character and potential. Drawing on our knowledge of each pupil and our experience of senior school expectations, we work closely with families to identify the schools where each child will be best placed to flourish, while also considering the qualities and opportunities that are most important to each family.
We have strong and well-established links with many senior schools and proactively support pupils and parents throughout the process. We do not favour any particular school; instead, we focus on finding the right fit for each individual child.
Through gradual and thorough preparation in a balanced and supportive environment, our pupils approach exams with confidence and achieve excellent outcomes. We are incredibly proud of our pupils’ 11+ results and the offers they receive from leading senior schools.
