School Life Learning Enrichment

Enrichment is an important part of school life from the earliest years to Upper Court Prep. It supports a holistic education, giving pupils opportunities to explore their interests, apply their learning in practical ways, and grow in confidence.

Through trips, visiting specialists, outdoor learning, and immersive experiences, pupils connect their learning to the real world, deepen curiosity, and extend their understanding beyond the classroom.

“There’s such a varied amount of opportunity to do different things at the school.” Ripley Parent

“There’s so much more to this school than normal schools.” Year 6 Pupil

Enrichment in Little Court Pre Prep

Enrichment begins from the very start of a child’s journey.

Our dedicated STEM room is designed for all ages, including Nursery and Pre Prep pupils, allowing even our youngest children to take part in hands on, practical learning. Timetabled sessions help bring classroom topics to life and encourage early curiosity and problem solving.

Outdoor learning also plays a central role. Children use the vegetable garden to plant and grow produce, later used in Food Technology, helping them understand where food comes from while developing responsibility.

Our outdoor classroom, including the Maths and Literacy Shed and reading areas, provides regular opportunities for children to explore and apply their learning in an open environment, building independence and creativity.

Enrichment in Upper Court Prep

Weekly enrichment for Years 3 to 6 is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and strengthen creativity through practical experiences.

Each Friday afternoon, pupils take part in a rotation of activities such as Productions, , STEM, Forest School, Careers, ECO, Life Skills and ESB (English Speaking Board).

Pupils also access facilities at Reed’s School, where sessions are led by specialist teachers. These include Science, Preparing for Senior School, Sports Masterclasses, Enterprise, Spanish and Product Design in the FutureTech Centre. Our dedicated STEM room further enhances learning across subjects, allowing pupils to experiment, design and problem-solve.

Forest School provides further outdoor enrichment, developing resilience, teamwork, and practical skills in a natural setting. Visiting speakers, careers related experiences, and performance opportunities such as the Year 3 and 4 production and the Year 6 production further support confidence and self-expression.
