Little Twigs Stay & Play

Come and join our exciting Woodland Stay & Play sessions, Little Twigs!

Little Twigs will take part on our school grounds in our very own Forest School facility, a fun and safe environment for children to feel independent, boost their self-esteem and enhance their knowledge of nature and the world around them.

Our sessions give children a love and understanding for nature and the environment, and they also allow children to learn new skills. The sessions are child led but we do encourage the children to step out of their comfort zone and try the activities available to them.

Our Forest School facility includes a bug hotel where children can identify different forms of wildlife, a mud kitchen in which the children use their imagination (and lots of muds!) to make a variety of different and delicious food concoctions, and also a campfire and mud mound.

In each session the children have the opportunity to participate in different creative activities, such as making bunting using flowers they have collected and pressing them onto material to create a unique design, to creating their own bubble wands using sticks and pipe cleaners.

At the end of every session, we all gather round the campfire and tuck into a snack warmed over the fire and delicious hot chocolate!

The sessions run every Monday in term time from 9.30am - 11am and is for children aged 18 months - 3 years. Admission is free.

Please find some reviews about our Little Twigs sessions below:

"It was a beautifully paced morning at Little Twigs on Monday. The staff were excellent and so welcoming. I really thought the whole experience was exceptional and I felt the boys were so lucky to be there and they loved it.The area was ingeniously set out to invite experiments with such stuff as wood or mud or bug hunting.  There was opportunity for tree climbing and sawing wood under supervision, also building with large tyres and logs and even making a little wooden wriggly caterpillar or maybe working in the mud kitchen stirring mud soup. The timing and length of the session were ideal. Thank you." - Grandparent of Little Twigs attendee

"We had such a gorgeous morning. Please could you thank all of your staff that helped and the school. A really lovely activity for the little ones to do." - Parent of Little Twigs attendee

"I wanted to say what an incredible job Nicky, Louise and Ellie have done with Little Twigs this term. [My child] has absolutely loved attending the sessions and I have seen a massive change in her independence and behaviour, which I believe Little Twigs has played a big part in. The wide range of activities offered and the work that goes into planning the classes is evident to see. The three of them are so kind and nurturing to all the children who attend and it is definitely noticed by all the parents." - Parent of Little Twigs attendee

“My 2 year old’s favourite day of the week is Forest School at Ripley Court! She has grown in confidence in so many ways as a result of this weekly outdoor experience. She enjoys making things, being part of a team, experimenting with various resources that are always changed and adapted each week and has even learnt how to make a fire! I am so grateful our little one has had the chance to experience forest school as I feel it has allowed her to develop in so many ways that an indoor activity would not have allowed.

The staff  (Eloise, Louise and Nicky) are simply wonderful! They take time to get to know each child, enjoy working with them 1:1 and always extend their learning with new and engaging activities each week.” - Parent of Little Twigs attendee

"The time flies when we’re at Court Rangers (always a sure sign of fun being had)!” - Grandparent of Little Twigs attendee

“We love coming to forest school and will definitely love to sign back up next term! The sessions are perfect in every way! You are all so lovely!” - Parent of Little Twigs attendee
