The government has passed legislation requiring schools to promote British values. Although this may seem rather unnecessary in the case of a school like Ripley Court, with its fine tradition of producing urbane, educated individuals and leaders in a traditional and very British manner, it is perhaps worth noting that our philosophy ties in with the best of being British in:
- the respect for the law.
- the appreciation of democracy and the participation in democracy, for example in the school council and in mock elections held at apposite times.
- respect for others and individual differences, preferences and religions.
- tolerance and understanding of others.
We support this with specific teaching in Personal Social and Health education (PSHE), in our Mission Statement and in our very being!
