Ripley Court Hosts 14th Annual Cross Country Challenge
On Monday 3rd October, Ripley Court School held its 14th Annual Cross Country Challenge. The school was delighted to host cross country teams from Barrow Hills, Notre Dame, Belmont, Priory Prep, Guildford High, Longacre, St Edmund’s, Hoe Bridge, Milbourne Lodge, Priors Field and Greenfield Schools.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and the perfect weather for both runners and spectators alike. The tough course took the young athletes around the beautiful school grounds, through the woods and even over some hay bale obstacles. The under 9’s completed 1 lap, the under 11’s completed 1.5 laps and the under 13’s completed 2 laps, all watched by their cheering parents, teachers and fellow pupils. The results were very mixed with all schools doing incredibly well. Ripley Court School’s Headmaster, Andrew Gough led the prize giving ceremony and there were medals for the top three in each category and a winning trophy for the winning school in each category.
Ripley Court School’s Senior Master, Steve Brunning, said, “We all had a wonderful afternoon and we were incredibly lucky with the weather. Now in its 14th Year, our Cross County Challenge is always a highlight of the Ripley Court calendar. It was a pleasure as always to host these local schools and their talented young athletes and every team should feel very proud of their achievements today.”
