Science For Girls Challenge
A selection of Year 5 girl visited Notre Dame on Wednesday 13th March to participate in the Girls For Science Challenge as part of Science Week 2019.
The girls constructed and fired rockets, built marble runs and also took part in a science quiz.
Here’s what the Year 5 girls thought of the day:
“On Wednesday 13th March Mrs Greaves took us to Notre Dame Science Challenge. The science challenge was to promote science to girls and it certainly worked for me! First go all there was a quiz and anagrams, then we were asked to build a marble run in one hour. The aim was to make it take as long as possible – that was really fun! After that we had a break and ran around. After the break we were asked to make a rocket. The rocket went so far and we got into a tie breaker round. At the end of the day we felt so inspired! Thank you Mrs Greaves for taking us.”
