The Big Movie March!
Staff and children from Cherry Trees and Jigsaw School joined pupils from Ripley Court School for its annual sponsored walk this week.
This year’s theme was The Big Movie March and it really did turn out to be a star-studded occasion. Nearly 300 pupils aged three to 13 dressed as famous movie characters, walked, skipped and ran around the beautiful school grounds, cheered on by their families and teachers.
Ripley Court is proud to have supported Cherry Trees and Jigsaw for many years and the sponsored walk is one of the highlights of the school calendar. Jigsaw, based in Dunsfold, supports children and adults with autism and Cherry Trees in East Clandon provides home-from-home respite care for children and young people with severe learning and physical disabilities.
Ripley Court School’s Senior Master, Steve Brunning, said, “We all had a brilliant morning. The pupils raise money in various ways throughout the year for Cherry Trees and Jigsaw and we always look forward to meeting the children at this popular annual event”.
Debbie Boulter, Care Co-ordinator and Fundraiser for Cherry Trees said “As always the staff and children of Cherry Trees had a simply glorious time at Ripley Court’s annual sponsored walk. The school has supported Cherry Trees for so many years and we are always made to feel like we are part of a family. Our children joined in the walk and made new friends along the way. Thank you Ripley Court for all your kindness and for your continual support of Cherry Trees.”
Steven Morgan PR & Fundraising Officer at Jigsaw Trust, said, “Joining their friends from Ripley Court School and Cherry Trees is always a highlight of the summer for our pupils It is so nice for them to be invited to join the sponsored walk and they particularly enjoyed the movie-theme of this year’s event. Huge thanks to all the pupils and staff at Ripley Court for being so welcoming and, of course, for raising funds for Jigsaw.”
