Year 4 at Rochester Castle
On Friday 10th March Year 4 visited Rochester Cathedral and Castle.
The day started with a quick history of the Cathedral, when it was built, by whom and why. Year 4 next enjoyed taking part in a Monk Workshop in the Crypt. Here they learnt how the monks lived day to day from what they wore, to their strict rules and even their punishments. The children then took a tour of the Cathedral looking closely the architecture, statues, tiles and paintings. After lunch Year 4 moved on to Rochester Castle and its many winding spiral staircases and old crumbling walls. Once at the top Year 4 were able to see some wonderful views of Rochester, the River Medway and beyond. More photographs can be seen in Recent Photographs.
