The majority of children leave Ripley Court at 13 - and this has huge advantages in terms of specialist tuition, which we have to provide to teach the children to the rigorous Common Entrance (CE) and Public School Scholarship (PSS) examinations.
Although the children are largely taught by class teachers until year 4, even there they enjoy the benefit of this powerful team of degree-level specialists. French, for example, starts in the Ark at age 3.
From year 5 onwards, children are entirely taught by specialists in English, maths, French, science (physics, chemistry and biology), history, geography, Latin and Religious Studies, music, art, Computing and design technology, as well as PE and swimming.
In terms of the curriculum it is less a case of deciding what to leave out, rather than put in, these days. We try to keep it simple and straightforward, and well balanced.
