Specialist Tuition and 13+
Unlike most primary schools, and those prep schools which end at 11+, at Ripley Court the majority of children leave at 13+. This has the huge advantage of requiring specialist tuition and teachers for the rigorous Common Entrance (CE) and Public School Scholarship (PSS) examinations the children sit.
It also means the children have the opportunity to enter the more traditional 13+ schools, such as Eton, Wellington, St John's, Epsom College or Charterhouse.
This powerful team of degree-level specialists teach much further down than the top two years (French starts at age 3, for example), adding rigour to the lessons.
So from year 5 onwards, children are entirely taught by specialists in English, maths, French, science (physics, chemistry and biology), history, geography, Latin and religious studies, music, art, computing and design technology, as well as PE and swimming.
