Ripley CourtSchool

Computer Science and Library

Situated next to each other, the newly refurbished computer laboratory and restocked library provide a powerful resource for research – and a good resource for reading for pleasure too.

The school has invested over one hundred thousand pounds in computer equipment for tuition and administration in the last few years – and this investment will continue to ensure the children and staff have access to the latest equipment. Ripley Court has recently invested in several banks of iPad tablets designed to support learning in class. IT is well-integrated into the children's education.

Only industry-standard software is used – so the children are exposed to the power of  modern computer technology. All children from Reception at age 4+ up have weekly lessons in the main Computer suite, from Year 3 with the Headmaster (who is a Computer Scientist by training). Children receive formal teaching in the use of PCs and also in coding in Logo, Scratch and Basic.
