Frequently Asked Questions
What Happens at an Open Morning?
Open Mornings consist of meeting the Headmaster and key staff together with a tour of the Nursery and Pre-Prep areas and some of the facilities. You will see the school in action particularly as pertaining to entry at Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 2. Parents of Year 3 entrants are very welcome to attend but may wish to consider an extended tour of that part of the school, which will be given by the Headmaster towards the end of the session.
As the children conduct the initial tour our Open Mornings are of necessity limited in their scope, but are ideal for getting a quick snapshot of our early provision. They will give you a feel for the atmosphere of this vibrant and happy school and show what happens on a normal school day. There is time at the end of the tour to ask the Headmaster further questions.
Who can attend?
You, your family, your relatives, your friends. All are welcome.
Do we need to come to an Open Morning?
Most parents also book a 1:1 tour with the Headmaster (and Head of Pre-Prep if applicable) on a separate occasion. This individual tour gives a deeper insight into the philosophy behind the running of the school. However, both the Open Morning and individual tours complement each other well and we recommend attending both if you can. Parents of pupils wishing to enter in Year 4 and above should contact the Registrar and book an individual tour with the Headmaster.
Do we need to register beforehand?
It is not essential but we do prefer it so that we can advise on the best time to arrive. It will also save you time on the day.
Quotation from a recent visitor: “The guides were lovely and clearly very proud of the school.”
